ESSENTIALS
➤ Clean your workplace

Most often times we often neglect our rooms especially during exam week, where all our notes and books are scattered everywhere and just leave everything hanging but did you know that having a clean space enhances our productivity which can have a positive impact into our ability to focus and efficiency to learn quickly. So this is your sign to take time and clean your mess!
➤ Set your goals + a planner
Find out what your goals are—what is your drive? What motivates you to study? Is it to be the best out of your class, enter a dream uni, improve on a certain subject…Ask yourself these questions and work on them. Having a planner can be also helpfull to organize and plan your goals! You can either buy one or have it digital for free via google calendar, routinery, notion (one of my personal favs) and so on..
➤ Be consistent! And have a study busy

Now that you’ve set your goals, the real challenge begins: staying consistent. I know this can be tough. But to make it easier, start small, avoid going all-in 100% right away. Build up gradually and don’t forget to have breaks to not overwhelm yourself. Having a study budy can make a huge difference into helping you stay motivated and on track! Don’t forget studying is a journey.
➤ Ask for help
Sometimes, YouTube tutorials and self study just aren’t enough, and it’s totally normal and okay to feel stuck. When that happens, don’t hesitate to ask your teacher or classmates for any topic that’s still unclear. Remember, we’re all here to learn!
TOP 5 STUDY TECHNIQUES
The Blurting Method: A Simple and Effective Study Technique
The blurting method is a quick and powerful study technique for retaining information. Here’s a breakdown of how it works and why it’s effective.
How to Use the Blurting Method
1. Pick a Topic – Choose a topic you want to review.
2. Skim Your Notes – Briefly review key points, then close your notes.
3. Blurt Everything You Know – On a blank sheet, write down everything you remember about the topic. No structure needed—just get it all out.
4. Check for Gaps – Compare what you wrote with your notes, identifying what you missed or got wrong.
5. Repeat – Focus on the areas you missed and try again.
Why It Works
The blurting method uses active recall—retrieving information without prompts—which strengthens memory. It also reveals knowledge gaps, helping you focus on what you still need to learn.
Who Should Try It?
Ideal for students, the blurting method is especially helpful for subjects with lots of facts or vocabulary. Give it a try, and see how it boosts your memory and understanding!
2. The Pomodoro Technique: Boost Your Focus in Short
Bursts

Struggling to stay focused? The Pomodoro Technique is a simple, effective way to manage time and improve productivity. Developed by Francesco Cirillo, this method breaks work into short, focused intervals (called “Pomodoros”) followed by a brief break.
How It Works
1. Set a Timer for 25 Minutes – Pick a task, start the timer, and work without interruptions.
2. Take a 5-Minute Break – When the timer goes off, rest briefly.
3. Repeat – After four Pomodoros, take a longer 15–30 minute break.
Why It Works
The Pomodoro Technique leverages short bursts of focused work to keep your mind fresh and reduce burnout. The frequent breaks help maintain high energy levels, making it easier to tackle big projects without feeling overwhelmed.
Who Should Try It?
Anyone who wants to improve focus, especially students or professionals with long to-do lists. Give it a try to see how much you can accomplish in just 25 minutes!
3. Flashcards: A Quick and
Effective Study Tool
Flashcards are a classic and highly effective study tool for memorizing facts, vocabulary, or concepts. They work by testing your recall, helping reinforce information in your memory.
How to Use Flashcards
1. Write a Question on One Side – On one side, write a question or key term.
2. Answer on the Other – On the opposite side, write the answer.
3. Test Yourself Regularly – Go through the cards, testing your memory. Separate cards into “known” and “unknown” piles to focus on what needs more review.
Why Flashcards Work
Flashcards use active recall by forcing you to retrieve information from memory, which strengthens retention. They’re especially helpful for subjects with facts or definitions, like languages and science.
Mind Mapping: A Creative Way to Organize Ideas
Mind mapping is a visual tool that helps organize information and connect ideas. By mapping out concepts in a structured, visual way, it’s easier to understand complex topics and see the “big picture.”

1. Start with a Central Idea – Write the main topic in the center of a page.
2. Branch Out with Subtopics – From the center, add branches for each subtopic, then expand with more specific points.
3. Use Colors and Images – Make your map visually engaging with colors, images, and keywords to help reinforce connections.
Why Mind Mapping Works
Mind mapping helps with visual learning and association, making it easier to remember complex information by creating visual connections. It’s ideal for brainstorming, essay planning, and subjects with interlinked ideas.
5. Spaced Repetition: A Smart Way to Boost Retention
Spaced repetition is a study method that schedules reviews of information at increasing intervals, based on how well you know it. This approach improves long-term memory by revisiting material before it’s forgotten.
How to Use Spaced Repetition
1. Organize Information by Familiarity – Prioritize information that needs more review.
2. Review in Intervals – Study each item, then review it after a day, then a few days later, then a week, and so on.
3. Use Apps for Convenience – Apps like Anki automate spaced repetition, making it easier to manage.
Why Spaced Repetition Works
Spaced repetition leverages the forgetting curve to help retain information by revisiting it at just the right time. It’s especially effective for language learning and studying for exams.
I hope these study tips help you reach your goals!
